AL of San Jose members are particularly proud of their Caring Hands program. Members began knitting baby blankets in 2008. Since its inception, members have hand-knitted or crocheted baby blankets by the thousands, baby hats to match, lap afghans and occasionally, chemo hats. In the past few years, handmade quilts and pillows have been added to the list. Donations of hand-made items are made to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Family Supportive Housing, Parisi House on the Hill, A Grace Sub Acute & Skilled Care, and to Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation Services.
