Caring Hands is a unique program that provides a place for Assistance League of San Jose members to get together to enjoy and share their talents at crocheting, knitting and quilting. Their end products provide newborn babies with layettes (blanket, hat and onesie), chemo patients with hats and scarves, seniors with lap blankets, and fundraisers with scarves, table runners, pillows, and blankets and quilts. Items are donated to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Family Supportive Housing, two convalescent homes and Parisi House on the Hill. Over 7,000 items were donated in the 2019-2020 year.
During the pandemic, in addition to the many items created by the committee, Caring Hands members are sewing face masks which are donated to organizations that we service.
