We Deliver Home Cooked Meals – and Our Families Help
We love cooking meals for Family Supportive Housing! We are all about helping the under-served population in San Jose. Providing dinners to this shelter is our way of joining the Fight Against Hunger. If you’d like to join us in this fight, please check us out.

Volunteers Pack Food at CityTeam

Senior Bingo
AL of San Jose volunteers bring smiles and make new friends as they play Bingo with the residents of two community rehabilitation facilities each month, A Grace Subacute & Skilled Care and Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation. Our volunteers have been bringing “Bingo Cheer” to these centers for over 25 years.
2022-2023 Operation School Bell – Making a Difference
Operation School Bell is Assistance League’s signature program. During the school year, our chapter donated over 27,000 articles of clothing, including school uniforms, to students in San Jose elementary schools where students are asked to wear school uniforms but often can’t afford to purchase them. AL of San Jose President Speaks at the Silicon Valley Capital Club
AL of San Jose participated with nine other nonprofits at the Silicon Valley Capital Club recent forum on nonprofits. Janey, our President, talked about some of the challenges facing nonprofits today. Other participating nonprofits included the YWCA, Momentum for Health, Ronald McDonald House Bay Area, San Jose Rotary Club and Planned Parenthood Mar Monte.

AL of San Jose Volunteers have offered Bingo at senior residences for 26 years! We socialize and connect with residents in two rehabilitation facilities A Grace Sub Acute and Skilled Care and Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation Los Gatos providing outside contact and entertainment through Bingo!

We are excited to once again announce the fantastic success our Screening Eyes Early program has had this year. Congratulations to our volunteer screeners who have worked diligently to screen and identify a record number of preschool students!
Caring Hands Sharing Talents
On average, our Caring Hands program produces between 175 and 200 blankets per month or 2,500 annually; the majority of which are donated to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. This program also donates a limited supply of blankets to Parisi House on the Hill and Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Cookies for FSH!
One of the many ways AL of San Jose supports Family Supportive Housing is through our Assist a Shelter program. Each month, children at the center are excited to receive home baked cookies supplied by our volunteer bakers.
Readers Are Leaders
Our Readers Are Leaders program volunteers motivate readers, encourage creativity and inspire student writers through the books and enrichments they share every month.

iJava Dining for Dollars!
iJava Cafe on Curtner in San Jose generously donated 20% of everyone’s bill to Assistance League of San Jose after our April 20 Dining for Dollars fundraiser. Members enjoyed a delicious breakfast or lunch. The food was so good that some of us went for both!
