Operation School Bell® is Assistance League’s signature program. Our goal is to help children in need succeed in school by providing new school clothing; health assistance, including hearing, vision and/or dental care; and literacy, cultural and educational enrichment.

Senior Bingo at Stonebrook

Seniors living at the Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation facility were happy to see our volunteers return in January. Sorting Food with CityTeam

Volunteers in our Assist-a-Shelter program began the new year sorting food for CityTeam. They assembled 196 bags of assorted packaged and canned foods for distribution to communities in need in San Jose.

Breakfast FUNdraiser – February 4th

Come join us for our annual Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s, 51 Curtner Ave. in San Jose! Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door. Applebee’s donates a portion of the proceeds to AL of San Jose.

Bring Onesies to the January Meeting – It’s a Baby Shower!

It’s time to restock Caring Hands’ onesies closet. Onesies will be collected at the January 19th Regular Meeting’s annual Baby Shower. Each layette that Caring Hands donates includes a blanket, hat and 3 or 6 month onesie. Let’s watch those onesies pile up!

Story Time at Parisi House

Today’s Readers Are Tomorrow’s Leaders

Thanks to a grant from the Intero Foundation, AL of San Jose delivered 1,400 of “Little Kids First Big Book of Why” to all of the students in our Readers Are Leaders program as holiday gifts. We read to children in the classrooms every month to promote literacy.
