Cookies for Family Supportive Housing

Due to COVID-19, AL of San Jose may no longer cook and serve meals at Family Supportive Housing. But to continue our mission of transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs our members are now baking cookies and delivering them to FSH to be handed out to the families. National Volunteer Week

During National Volunteer Week we would like to recognize the fantastic AL of San Jose volunteers for their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment. They are the heart of our various community programs. From June 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020 we have volunteered 38,579 hours. Kudos and thanks to all volunteers!

Calling to say “Hello”

Our Board is on a mission to call and check in with every AL of San Jose member. A cheery voice inquiring about a member’s welfare is appreciated and often a welcome surprise in these socially isolating times.

Quilts for Parisi House on the Hill

Karen Traiger, an AL of San Jose Caring Hands quilter, is keeping busy making her unique quilts for the Parisi House on the Hill (a shelter for young mothers and their under five-year-old children) and Family Supportive Housing. Both facilities are appreciative of these donations.
