Readers Are Leaders (RAL) has embarked on a partnership with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library (King Library).👏

In September, librarians from the King Library conducted a training session with our readers to help them improve their skills reading to students.

In October, in addition to the books students receive from the Assistance League📚, each student received a very special bookmark🔖provided by the library. The bookmarks tell the students which library is closest to the school they attend🗺️and lets them know how to get their very own library card so that they can check out books themselves.

Each participating library will have a display featuring the books that our RAL volunteers read that month📘📗 along with suggestions for similar books that students may enjoy checking out to read at home.

We are grateful for this new partnership that is such a wonderful extension of our program.🙏
