Over 1,000 Students in 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms in 49 San Jose elementary school classrooms welcomed Readers Are Leaders volunteers back to their classrooms for the first session of the new year.👏🎉

They listened to each book and then discussed📙”Abdul’s Story” by Jamilah Tompkins-bgelow, illustrated by Tiffany Rose and 📘 “Chez Bob” written and illustrated by Bob Shea.

After reading, the books were left in the classroom libraries and each student was gifted National Geographics “Alligators and Crocodiles” 🐊by Laura Marsh to keep, read and take home.
