They cheer😀 when we arrive and thank us🙏when we leave. No wonder the Readers Are Leaders (RAL) program is so loved by our members💕!

This month, volunteers read “How to Find a Bird” 🦆🦅🐦by Jennifer Ward, illustrated by Diana Sudyka and “Knight Owls and Early Bird” 🦉🐥written and illustrated by Christopher Denise, to over 1,000 San Jose 2nd and 3rd grade elementary students.

📘📗Both books were left in the classrooms so students can read them again and again when they have time.

📙Every student also received “New Kids in the Flock” by Elise Gravel to keep and take home.

➕Plus, as RAL does every month, two projects related to the books were given to the teachers to distribute just for fun and to help the students remember and enjoy the books. ✏️🎲

AL of San Jose knows how important literacy is. Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders!
