October Membership Meeting Features 100 Women Who Care Program Speaker

The national organization has a shared mission, vision, and core values.

Assisteens® of the Bay Area spend a great amount of time focused on those core values – CLEAR – which represents C – Commitment, L- Leadership, E – Ethics, A-Accountability, and R – Respect.

This year, our auxiliary chairman, Thomas Jennische, introduced the idea of featuring program speakers from October until March, who would discuss each of the values individually.

Our first guest speaker, Justine Powell, along with Tracy Bush and Cindy Sebald, are the founding members of 100 Women Who Care – Clear Lake Bay Area. Since its inception in 2015, this organization has awarded close to $150,000 to deserving charities in the greater Clear Lake Bay Area. Assisteens of the Bay Area has been the lucky recipient of their generosity twice, and in both instances, the funding has allowed us to expand our reach.

Ms. Powell shared the history of the organization and how it has grown. However, most of her remarks dealt with commitment and how these two organizations are similar in who and why they serve.

Afterward, Vice Chairman Marketing & Communications Kate Mark posed a series of questions to Ms. Powell.
