Assistance League® of Huntington Beach Scholarships
Giving 4 Tomorrow Transforming Lives with Scholarships

Immediately after my high school graduation, my Mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer.  I was my Mother’s full-time caregiver for 2 years, taking her to clinics, doctors’ appointments and hospitals.  After my Mom died, I went back to school to complete my prerequisites so I could enter nursing school.  My Mother would have been proud.  I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was the first in my family to receive a degree.”

“This past year along with Golden West College nursing classes, I co-enrolled at Cal State University Fullerton taking 2 nursing classes to get a head start on my Bachelor Science Nursing (BSN) degree.”

“Financially, putting school first has made my everyday living situation challenging.  I worked full-time until I was laid off last year.  Ever since then I’ve been working part-time, struggling to keep up with monthly expenses.”

“Words are insufficient. thank you for the scholarship and believing in me.”

Tuition expenses aren’t just registration fees and textbooks they also include living expenses. The total of these expenses cause many students to graduate with deep debt while others dropout.
