Assistance League of the Bay Area’s Ready for Work Serves Eighteen Clients and Establishes New Partnership

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in the Greater Houston area for July was 4.8%. Recovery from the pandemic is happening, but not as quickly for those still seeking jobs.

For those seeking employment, the stress can be great as financial commitments mount at an increasing rate.

Through Assistance League of the Bay Area®‘s Ready for Work Program, we provide referred clients the opportunity to select clothing from our award-winning Resale Shop or a local department store for specialty items like scrubs and steel-toed boots.

Last year we served 39 individuals through partnerships with Family Promise of Clear Creek, Family Houston, and The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc.

As the need continues to mount, we have already served 18 clients in this year’s first quarter and added a new partner, Workforce Solutions – Clear Lake.
