Kari Kelley’s Estate Donates $5,000 to Assistance League of the Bay Area

Kari Kelley was initially introduced to Assistance League® of the Bay Area when she was a Boeing employee and a member of the Employees Community Fund board. The chapter’s work moved her; she determined she would join upon retirement. And she did!

Along with herself, she also recruited her mother, Carole Eitzen, and her best friend, Terry Overcash, to join her. They all completed training and became active, vital members of the chapter.

Kari embraced her member role with gusto involving herself in the chapter’s philanthropic programs, fundraising initiatives, and with her professional public relations background; she was a tremendous asset to the marketing team.

Her contributions and enthusiasm were so impressive, she received a chapter award at last year’s annual meeting in May.

When the new fiscal year began on June 1, 2022, Kari agreed to do more and stepped into committee leadership roles.

On August 26, the world lost a bright light as Kari left us far too soon.

However, Kari still had plans for Assistance League of the Bay Area.

On November 8th, at the chapter’s annual Home for the Holidays Extravaganza, Kari’s mother, Carole Eitzen, and cousin, Jennifer Cox, presented President Marie Keener with a $5,000 check from Kari’s estate. This contribution will allow philanthropic programs to enhance their work in the community.

Even in her passing, Kari Kelley taught us all how to live!
