A Step Beyond CEO Speaks at Member Meeting
On May 28th, A Step Beyond CEO, James Wright, made a presentation on a little known, but fascinating program to serve local youth and their families.
A Step Beyond (ASB) is a Creative Youth Development nonprofit in Escondido, CA, providing free after-school dance education, academic support, and family services to youth and families living at or under the poverty line. ALINC Participates in Escondido’s 2025 Street Festival
Once again, ALINC will once again be participating in the Escondido Street Festival, sponsored by the Downtown Business Association.
This springtime favorite will return with professional live music on various stages, Art in the Garden, as well as 350 participating vendors. This event will be held on Grand Avenue from 10am – 6pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
This event is free to the public and is well attended by our local community.

Founding Member Celebrates 100th Birthday
Mary Malone of Escondido, Marti Ferry of Lake San Marcos and Genie Jenson of Rancho Bernardo held an invitational coffee in March 1982. Their plan was to recruit interested women in establishing an Assistance League chapter in the north county region of San Diego.
Marti Ferry, pictured second from the left above, celebrated her 100th birthday on April 12th, 2025.

ALINC Awarded 2024 Comet Award
SAN MARCOS (March 8, 2024) — The Palomar College Community Showcase brought campus and community leaders from across north county to the California Center for the Arts in Escondido to “A Salute to Those Who Serve”. The event, attended by over 400 people, was hosted by the Palomar College Foundation. The annual Comet Award was presented to the Assistance League of Inland North County. The Comet Award recognizes individuals or organizations dedicated to serving others and our community.
