The Orthodontic Program provides low-cost orthodontic treatment for children from families with limited financial resources. The Orthodontic Center’s administration, orthodontist, staff, and Assistance League volunteers strive to provide comprehensive, quality orthodontic care in a personal and caring environment. The staff looks forward to helping their patients develop great smiles that will last a lifetime!

Qualifying Requirements

The children accepted into the program must live in Long Beach, Lakewood, or Signal Hill, or attend school in Long Beach.  They should be between the ages of 11 and 16.  Orthodontic screenings of prospective patients are held throughout the year.  Children with qualifying orthodontic needs are accepted from these screenings into the program.  Most children are in treatment approximately 30 months.  Following the initial orthodontic screening, parents are required to participate in a financial screening at which time they must provide verification of their household income.  These documents are reviewed to establish a monthly fee.  There is also a $100 start-up fee.  Consultations are held with each new patient and parents to present a treatment plan.  For more information or to sign up to participate in a screening, please contact our office at (562) 425-9453 or email us at ortho@ALLB.org.

Adli was a patient who completed her treatment and said, “Everyone was so kind and supportive.”  She promoted the program to others, including her younger brother who is now in the program.  Even though he was nervous at the beginning, she says, “I keep reassuring him about the kindness of the orthodontic staff.”  Adli is so happy with her new smile and enjoys all the compliments she gets.
