Volunteers lined up at Assistance League of Mid-Missouri to pack Kaboodle Kits. Kaboodle Kits meet a very basic need for personal hygiene for children, senior citizens, veterans, and families in our community. Each student who is clothed by Operation School Bell also receives a Kaboodle Kit. A Kit contains shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, comb, soap, and lip balm. Kits are distributed by nurses in the Columbia Public Schools and are also provided to clients of the following agencies: Patriot Place and Welcome Home, The Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, and The Voluntary Action Center. This program also provides other personal hygiene or dietary products for senior citizens and cleaning/laundry supplies for those in need. In 2020-21, 5,074 kits were distributed, with a value of $22,880.19.
