Providing Emergency Clothing
to Victims of Assault

The program has been serving our community since 1994. When assault victims arrive at the hospital, they may be asked to leave their clothing as evidence. In the past, the victim was sent home or to the police station in scrubs from the emergency room. Assistance League of Mid-Missouri now provides local hospitals with Assault Survivor Kits®, packaged for male, female, and child victims.

Each kit contains the following items for victims:

• a sweatshirt
• sweatpants
• undergarments
• hygiene items

Between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019, 126 kits were provided to local hospital emergency rooms.
