Assistance League of Atlanta marched in the Dunwoody Parade on Thursday, July 4th. This is the largest 4th of July Parade in the state of Georgia with an estimated 35,000 spectators enjoying the festivities. The event has become one of our chapter’s long-standing traditions, having participated since 2004 – rain or shine! This year’s theme was the City of Dunwoody’s 10th birthday. Our entourage consisted of a convertible with our President, Kathy Wilson-Chu, on board waving her queenly wave, and a truck decorated with a “birthday cake” with ten tiers. Our ground troops carried signs, waved flags, sang Happy Birthday Dunwoody and gave out candy to the parade watchers. It’s fun and patriotic, and we love doing it!
