Legacy of Literacy

As part of the National Assistance League’s effort to promote literacy in every chapter, we collected donations at our Thrift Shop.  The proceeds will buy books for the Penderlea Elementary School Library.

Play at the Beach

We all had a great time at our annual fundraiser.  Over 200 members of our community played games, had lunch, won baskets, enjoyed the beach scenery and supported our Philanthropic Programs.  Thank you to all who joined us.

Teddy Bears = Smiles

Chief W. Sullivan, Pender County EMS, Burgaw, Patricia Gopsill, Assistance League of Greater Wilmington. The Assistance League of Greater Wilmington has gifted Teddy Bears to the Pender County EMS.  They have stated that these bears bring comfort and smiles to the children who receive them in the time of need.

Landfall Grant

At our December Regular Meeting, a check for $2000 was awarded to Brunswick Community College for two scholarships for women returning to work. Another $2000 was awarded Cape Fear Community College for similar recipients
