Dear Thrift Shop Elves,
Many, many thanks to everyone for your time and talents Friday, Saturday and yesterday to make sense of the unbelievable amount of holiday merchandise that was processed. You all sorted, tagged, priced, transported and displayed with smiles on your faces. Many of you also supervised our wonderful Farrington High School student volunteers. The lunch offerings were sooooo delicious! The Thrift Shop looks amazing and we are ready for robust sales that will keep our programs humming along. I hope you all had some fun along the way too. What a crew!!!

Aloha Friends,
Today’s Student Shopping event at Walmart was a great success. We clothed 172 children from Kalihi, Kalihi Waena, Ka’ewai elementary schools and Central Middle. They picked up some great looking clothes and shoes that they can be proud to wear to school. Hopefully, it will help them succeed in school.
We spent a total of $10,880. The average amount per child was $61.12 for elementary and $74.75 for middle school students.
There were 25 members who volunteered their morning to make it happen. You are all the best, the A-Team! Each of you was important to the success of the day and made the day’s efforts valuable and fun for everyone.
Assistance League of Hawaii and Operation School Bell® made a positive impact on the Kalihi community, today. You helped make it happen. Great job!
