Our members love to "dress" kids

Operation School Bell® – Elementary

Elementary school students are brought to Assistance League to “shop” for brand-new clothing.  They all leave with a huge bag of new clothes, wide grins and a renewed sense of confidence.

Operation School Bell® – Teen Retail

Middle, junior high and high school students shop for clothing and shoes at a local retail store.

Operation School Supplies

School supplies are delivered to Ada County schools so students can start the school year with the same supplies as their classmates.

Cinderella’s Closet

Ada County high school students rent formal wear for a nominal fee.  Prom should be a fairy-tale for all high school students!

Baby Bundles

Provides newborn clothing and supplies to families in need in local hospitals.  Every new baby deserves to go home in a new outfit, with diapers and other essentials!

Empowering Youth

Provides basic household items, nonperishable food, and a handmade quilt to 18-year old youth aging out of foster care.

Provides personal care, kitchen and domestic items to federally designated high school Homeless Unaccompanied Youth in Ada County.

Provides hearing aids, special equipment and educational grants to hearing impaired Ada County residents.

Step back in time and tour this 1879 restored home.  Period dressed volunteers teach real-life, interactive history lessons on how our forefathers lived.

Diamond Heating and Cooling of Garden City partners with Idaho News 6 in an effort to recognize those who are making our community a better place to live.  Assistance League of Boise is honored to be the June recipient of the Shine A Light Award.

Thrift Shop Closed July 3rd

Our Thrift Shop will be closed July 3rd for Independence Day and will re-open on July 7th at 10:00 AM.  No donations will be accepted July 3rd through 5th.

Kathy Henkel Receives the Peg McCurdy Award

The Peg McCurdy Award is for the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year in a leadership role. The award was established in 1989-1990 to honor our pint-sized walking ambassador of goodwill. Assistance League of Boise’s Thrift Shop was voted The Best Thrift Store in the Treasure Valley and The Best Thrift Store in Idaho in Idaho’s Best of 2021 survey. Thanks to all who voted for our thrift shop! Proceeds from our thrift shop sales fund our philanthropies that benefit those in need in Ada County.

The Thrift Shop is our primary source of funding for our philanthropic programs.  We are proud of our reputation as one of the best and friendliest thrift shops in the Treasure Valley.  Our members work hard to make sure the merchandise is always good quality, clean, and priced fairly.
