KWAK / Give Aloha Now to September 30

Give Aloha to Assistance League of Hawaii

Give Aloha 2021

Now through September 30, is Assistance League of Hawaii’s annual Foodland Give Aloha campaign, often referred to as “KWAK” (“Kokua with Aloha Kala for our Keiki”).

The annual community matching gifts program honors Foodland of Hawaii’s founder Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan. The program continues his legacy of giving back to the community and supports the Assistance League of Hawaii’s philanthropic programs for our keiki.

The goal is to increase participation. Let your friends and relatives know about KWAK / Give Aloha. Everyone can participate by making a purchase at any Foodland, Foodland Farms or Sack N’ Save stores and adding a donation of up to $249 on their Maka’i rewards card.
This year our banner is hanging at the Kailua Foodland supermarket.

How to Donate:

At checkout, give your Maika’i card to cashier & let them know u would like to make a donation to Assistance League of Hawaii – our five digit code is 77759.

If you don’t have a Maika’i account, you can set one up with the cashier.

Your donation will be added to your grocery purchase total. You may donate up to $249 per person.

Be sure the cashier reaffirms your donating to Assistance League of Hawaii and amount that you are donating.

The name Assistance League of Hawaii and the amount you donate will appear on your receipt.

Give Aloha donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Please save your store receipt for tax purposes since it will be the only record you will have of your donation. You may ask the cashier for a duplicate receipt.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM FOODLAND:

During September, Maika’i members are invited to make donations up to $249 to their favorite participating Hawaii non-profit organization at checkout.

Donations to each organization are tracked, and Foodland’s matching gift is divided proportionately among all participating organizations based on customer donations to the organizations.
