Our Beginnings

A group of women gathered in 1976 to form what would come to be known as Assistance League of Las Vegas to address needs in the community. The organization was chartered in 1979 as the 63rd Chapter of National Assistance League®. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with no paid staff.

Our Chapter Facility

In 1996, Assistance League of Las Vegas received a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation to build a state-of-the-art Chapter Facility. The grant required that we raise matching funds which was accomplished by Capital Campaign contributions. The building was completed in August 1998. It gave the organization a physical presence in our community and for the first time all of our philanthropic programs, our Assistance League Thrift Shop as well as meeting rooms and administrative offices were housed in one location.

Our Members Are Our Strength

Since the 90’s the look of our organization has changed. We are now comprised of men and women as well as teenagers. Chapter members volunteer their time and skills during the day through our many philanthropic programs and fundraising events/activity. Our Assisteens® Auxiliary teaches leadership and fundraising skills as well as offering volunteer opportunities to students in grades 7th through 12th . Desert Sage Auxiliary gives members with limited weekday hours the opportunity to volunteer on the weekends and in the evenings.
