Members have the opportunity to volunteer in a wide variety of ways in the areas that most interest them. This includes donating service hours to philanthropic and fundraising activities as well as serving on administrative committees that make the organization effective.
Member volunteers staff the Assistance League Thrift Shop, the main fundraising effort. They also work and staff the Blue Portal Gift Shop in Albuquerque Old Town, which offers for sale items made by senior crafters and artists. Other volunteers are puppeteers for The Kids on the Block or shop for the products that make up Assault Survivor Kits. Other volunteers knit for the Tender Loving Care program.
