Our Philanthropic Program

Our Blue Portal program serves our senior New Mexico artists and crafters by providing them with a perfect location to have their creations sold to the public. The service is free to over 450 artists and crafters and they receive 100% of the asking price for each piece sold.

We provide both the building and the staff – who are all volunteer members of Assistance League of Albuquerque. Besides the seniors, others who gain from this program are the customers – both locals and tourists – who browse our shop and purchase the affordably priced gifts. They receive a great value at a great price and without them, of course, we’d have nothing.

Artists and Crafters

With the COVID-19 restrictions, artist intake is by appointment only.

Blue Portal is able to again consider new artists for inclusion in this seniors program. The link that follows details the process that one will need to follow to secure an appointment. All correspondence is done via email. All artists must be 55 or older and New Mexico residents with a valid email address. We welcome your interest.

Because of its historical significance, we had to restore the building, all the way down to the foundation and walls.
