We do not accept new artists during the fall. As a promise to our existing artists, this is their time of maximum sales and we do the utmost to help them succeed. The introduction of new artists at this time dilutes this possibility. Applications to be an artist at Blue Portal resume in March so that the new artists have time to find what of their work is the best fit for Blue Portal and Old Town.

BLUE PORTAL GIFT SHOP
Blue Portal is one of nine philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Albuquerque. The Blue Portal committee works directly with our senior New Mexico artists and crafters by providing them with a perfect location to sell their creations to the public. The service is free to over 450 artists and crafters, and they receive 100% of the asking price for each piece sold.
We provide both the building and the staff, who are all volunteer members of Assistance League of Albuquerque. Besides the seniors, others who gain from this program are the customers, both locals and tourists, who browse our shop and purchase the affordably priced gifts. They receive a great value at a great price.
Blue Portal will start accepting applications for new artists April 1, 2025. Below find our introduction to Blue Portal with detail about what we are. Also below find our 2025 outline of what we do and do not take. We look forward to your submissions and be aware we accept NO applications via phone or in person, all must come via the email provided.
