Fourth District Supervisor JANICE HALN  of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors once again awarded Assistance League of Whittier $10,000 for Operation School Bell philanthropic program.   The funds were used to help clothe children from South Whittier and Los Nietos School Districts which was held at Target in September.   Thanks you again and again!

Whittier Rotary Club Award!

A big Thank You to Rotary Club of Whittier’s “Community and Youth Service Award” for Operation School Bell.  This Award of $1,120  helped Assistance  League of Whittier clothe elementary children at  October 2019 Operation School Bell Event at Target.

Wee Wardrobe delivers Layettes!

Assistance League of Whittier member Jan S delivered 32 baby layettes to Labor and Delivery Coordinator Valerie Martin at PIH Hospital in Whittier, CA.  Wee Wardrobe programs purchases, assembles and delivers layettes so new unprepared mothers can take babies home with clothing and blankets.

Legacy of Literary

Legacy of Literary  encourages children to read! Assistance League of Whittier collected 189 new books  and were delivered to Whittier Salvation Army.  Now families at the Whittier Salvation Army will enjoy reading these books.

South Whittier School District Board Recognition of Assistance League of Whittier

On Feb 20, 2018 South Whittier School District Board recognized the Assistance League of Whittier for their extraordinary contribution to the South Whittier School District and Community.   Members accepted awards for Operation School Bell and Dental Programs!

RID Shampoo

Assistance League of Whittier VP of Philanthropic Programs Jan Sprague delivered 48 case of RID shampoo to East Whittier, South Whittier, Los Nietos and City of Whittier school distributed to children families as needed.

PEN Award

  Former Whittier Assisteen Stacey Lee won the PEN award in the Young Adult category for her second book: Outrun the Moon. This is a compelling story set against the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Operation Holiday

Kids on the Block were in the annual Whittier Uptown Association Parade.  The puppets love the parade and they are a big hit with young and old. Kids on the Block performs programs on Bullying,  Healthy eating and other social concerns for Greater Whittier area

Grant Received!!

Thanks to Janice Hahn, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, for a $5,000 grant given to the Whittier Assistance League for its Operation School Bell® philanthropic program. This grant will provide clothes for 83 elementary students in the greater Whittier area when school begins this Fall.
